System Development Engineer, Amazon Leo Enterprise Network Infrastructure

Amazon Leo is Amazons low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast reliable internet to customers and communities around the world and weve designed the system with the capacity flexibility and performance to serve a wide range of customers from individualhouseholds to schools hospitals businesses government agencies and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.

We are seeking a skilled System Development Engineer with strong networking experience and expertise in network data analysis and visualization platforms. The ideal candidate will design develop and maintain systems infrastructure while leveraging tools like Splunk to monitor analyze and optimize network performance.
This is a highly collaborative position that interfaces with Engineering Operations Deployment and Security teams.

Key job responsibilities
Design develop and maintain scalable system architectures and infrastructure
Automate system provisioning configuration and deployment processes
Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines for system updates and releases
Write scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency (Python Bash PowerShell)
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and infrastructure issues
Monitor network performance and implement optimization strategies
Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines from various network sources
Generate actionable insights from network traffic analysis
Deploy configure and maintain Splunk or equivalent platforms (ELK Stack Grafana Datadog)
Create dashboards reports and visualizations for network and system metrics
Analyze log data to identify trends anomalies and security threats


About the team
The Amazon Leo Enterprise Network Infrastructure team designs implements maintains and optimizes mission-critical enterprise networks across our global footprintincluding manufacturing facilities research laboratories launch sites and mission operations centers. We ensure exceptional availability performance and security for network infrastructure that powers operations worldwide.

- Experience in automating deploying and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Experience building services using AWS products
- Comprehensive understanding of core networking concepts and routing protocols.

- 5 years of systems development experience
- 2 years of networking and troubleshooting experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
