Job Summary

Heavy Equipment Operator Responsibilities:

Operate heavy equipment (e.g. excavators dozers backhoes skid steers) on construction projects per supervisor direction and job specifications.
Support daily operations by ensuring equipment is run safely efficiently and within designated tolerances.
Perform manual labor duties as needed to assist the crew with tasks such as grading loading or laying asphalt.
Conduct routine maintenance and minor servicing of equipment to maintain performance and safety.
Follow all safety procedures company policies and quality standards at all times.
Communicate clearly with the foreman and crew to coordinate equipment use and workflow.
Work in varying weather conditions and terrain while maintaining focus and productivity.

Desired Qualifications:

Prior experience in heavy highway site development or asphalt construction preferred.
Familiarity with operating excavators backhoes dozers or similar equipment.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently on a job site.
Formal training or equipment certifications are a plus.
Valid drivers license required.
Must be safety conscious reliable and able to work in physically demanding outdoor environments.
