VicRoads is progressing August 2022 we started on a new chapter when the Victorian State Government partnered with Aware Super Australian Retirement Trust and Macquarie Asset Management to operate registration and licensing services on its behalf.
We work collaboratively with the Victorian State Government to ensure we fulfill regulatory requirements deliver State projects and safeguard customer data. The Victorian State Government retains sole responsibility for road access infrastructure and safety.

About the Opportunity
The Data Governance Manager is responsible for designing embedding and sustaining enterprise-wide data governance frameworks that enable high-quality trusted and well-managed data across the organisation. This role drives clarity of data ownership stewardship and accountability while ensuring governance practices are practical adopted and value-enabling rather than bureaucratic.
The Data Governance Manager partners with business and technology stakeholders to uplift data practices support regulatory and risk obligations and enable effective analytics reporting and advanced data use cases..
About you
You are an experienced data governance professional with a strong track record of designing and embedding effective data governance frameworks processes and controls within complex organisations. You bring at least five years experience across data governance data management or related disciplines and are confident translating governance principles into practical valuedriven outcomes.
You have a welldeveloped understanding of privacy legislation data protection regulations compliance obligations and evolving industry trends and are comfortable embedding proportionate controls that support regulatory and risk requirements. You are skilled at defining and tracking meaningful KPIs to measure the effectiveness and maturity of data governance initiatives and continuously improve outcomes.
You are proactive collaborative and influential able to work effectively with senior leaders business stakeholders and technology teams to drive strong data practices and behaviours across the organisation.
DAMA certification or accreditation along with experience leading and developing highperforming teams will be highly regarded.
You must be eligible to gain Baseline Clearance VicRoads to sponsor this clearance
