Job Summary

Glassboro High School is seeking a full-time Teacher of Culinary Arts.

Start Date -September 2026

TITLE:Teacher of Culinary Arts

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Hold or be eligible to hold a New Jersey Teacher of Culinary Arts Certificate (4128).

Reports to: Building Principal

JOB GOAL/MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

The Culinary Arts Teacher is responsible for instructing and training students interested in pursuing a career in culinary arts. Through coursework and hands-on kitchen training the teacher will instruct students on the theory and practice of food preparation. The Culinary Arts teacher will also instruct students to use kitchen equipment effectively and safely.

Instructional Planning:

  • Plan instruction consistent with the district-approved curriculum
  • Apply principles of teaching/learning to enhance student achievement.
  • Utilize teaching methods that are appropriate for the objectives and learners.
  • Modify instruction to meet student needs.
  • Communicateroutinely with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
  • Establish clear expectations for appropriate behavior.
  • Follow Board of Education policies school procedures and any other rules regulations or policies that may be established by the central or building administration.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Principal within the parameters of the hours terms and conditions of employment as negotiated.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This is a ten (10) month position with salary and contract terms to be negotiated with the Superintendent and the Board of Education.

EVALUATION:

Performance in this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on evaluation of personnel.
