Description
The Senior IT Manager will help determine the information technology needs of the company and is responsible for the overall planning organization and execution of all IT within the organization. They will direct the IT staff to carry out the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions providing daily support to a 300-user base. They will work with a Managed Services Provider to assist with local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) administration tasks LAN-based applications SAN servers switches firewalls data backups environmental monitoring and remote access services. They will serve as the liaison between the business side of the organization and the technical side identifying needs communicating findings and making recommendations. They will advise the businesses on technology and how it can help them perform better then oversee new systems design development and implementation.
SENIOR IT MANAGER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manages and coordinates all IT-related matters including data wireless communications mobile technology telephony security and computer hardware and software.
- Helps define document and continuously analyze IT systems and processes technologies and vendors to identify areas of improvement.
- Makes recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure.
- Monitors performance of IT systems to determine cost and productivity levels.
- Develops and maintains annual budget.
- Develops and executes business continuity and disaster recovery solutions.
- Develops systems to track and maintain hardware and software inventory.
- Works with Managed Services Provider to ensure uptime of critical infrastructure: Internet Phones E-mail Servers SAN etc.
- Works with Managed Services Provider to manage backups and routinely checks the integrity of those backups by performing test restores.
- Coordinates and supervises IT staff members ensuring the team is operating efficiently and providing impeccable customer service.
- Coaches mentors and develops staff. Assists with providing career development planning and opportunities.
- Conducts formal employee performance reviews and tracks employee performance. Provides effective performance feedback.

Rockville MD - Hybrid
ANNUAL BASE COMPENSATION:
$160000 commensurate with experience

Requirements
- At least 5 years previous experience as an IT manager.
- Must be able to handle budgets.
- Must have strong project management skills.
- Must have strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelors degree in computer science information science or a related field preferred.
- Must have a good understanding of PC Hardware and Operating Systems LAN Technologies Amazon Cloud Services Azure Cloud Services Office 365 Cisco FortiGate EMC SAN and familiarity with SSO (Single Sign-on).
