JOB TITLE: BANQUET CAPTAINDEPARTMENT: Food & BeverageREPORTS TO: Banquet Manager / Food & Beverage ManagerPOSITION SUMMARYTe Banquet Captain is responsible for supervising banquet staff and ensuring the smooth efficient execution of all banquet events. This role acts as the on-site leader during events maintaining service standards coordinating with kitchen and event teams and delivering exceptional guest experiences. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSupervise and coordinate banquet service staff during events Assign duties and manage staff schedules for assigned functions Ensure proper setup service and breakdown of banquet events according to BEOs (Banquet Event Orders) Act as the primary point of contact during events for clients and internal teams Ensure food and beverage service meets hotel quality and presentation standards Coordinate timing of service with kitchen and bar staff Monitor guest satisfaction and address concerns promptly and professionally Enforce hotel policies safety standards and sanitation procedures Train coach and motivate banquet staff Assist with inventory equipment handling and cleanliness of banquet areas
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalent required Previous banquet catering or food & beverage supervisory experience preferred Knowledge of formal banquet service styles (plated buffet family-style cocktail) Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
SKILLS & COMPETENCIESExcellent organizational and time-management skills Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities Team leadership and staff supervision Attention to detail Professional appearance and demeanor
