About this unit

6 North is a 32bed surgical unit known for its strong learning environment supported by a collaborative and highly skilled nursing team. The unit offers exposure to a wide variety of surgical cases that extend beyond traditional MedSurg clinical experiences.

Our team cares for patients recovering from a broad spectrum of procedures including urologic major and minor abdominal ENT bariatric pulmonary and peripheral vascular surgeries as well as general postoperative needs.

The unit also features eight telemetry beds for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring.

6 North is a fastpaced and dynamic environment offering continuous learning opportunities and a rich variety of patient care experiences.

About the position

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative Assistant Nurse Manager to join our leadership team on 6 North. Scope of work

Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy goals policies and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.

Qualifications

  • Effective June 1 2025 a bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) Required.
  • Two years of clinical experience Required.
  • Participation in leadership activities (Unit hospital or system Shared Governance meetings Precepting Charge nurse role) Preferred.
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
