Job Summary

The PMA Boston team consists of more than80 professionals dedicated to providing exceptional service inownersproject management project controls scheduling risk management andclaimsavoidance across a variety of industries. With a newly renovated officelocatedjust south of Boston in Braintree PMA Boston works with clients across the New England area and beyond.
Summary:
As an internyoullplay an active role supporting the Owners Project Management (OPM) team throughout every phase of a project from design and procurement through construction and final key documentation meeting coordination and communication among school administrators architects and contractors. This hands-on experience includesparticipatingin site visits and project meetings helping track schedules and budgets ensuring compliance with educational building standards andobservingreal-world architectural and project decision-making in action.

Organizational Responsibilities

    • Help support the Owners Project Management (OPM) team from design through procurement construction and delivery for assigned projects.
    • Assistwith documentation meeting coordination and communication between school administrators architects and contractors.
    • Participate in site visits project meetings and helpmonitorschedules budgets and compliance with educational building standards.
    • Join architectural discussions andobservedecision-making processes.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

    • Actively enrolledin abachelors or advanced degree in Engineering ConstructionManagement or relateddisciplinesfrom an accredited universityisrequired
    • Prior internship experience within an engineering or construction management firm preferred
    • Knowledge of Rhino Adobe Premiere Pro Google Sketchup and Procore desirable
    • Ability to be onsite in the office or at various client sites when needed isrequired.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

    • Ability to provide off-hourssupport as needed; occasional overtime may berequiredto meet critical project deadlines.
    • Weekend work is rare butoccasionally may be necessary

    • Ability to successfully complete a background investigation in accordance with company and client requirements.
    • An employee mustcurrentlyhave or be able to obtain by the time the internship begins a government-issued drivers license or identification cardin order topass aMassachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI)
    • Prolongedperiodssitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office environment including the use of stairs.
    • Ability to adjust focus especially due to concentration on a computer screen.
    • Mustcommunicatefrequentlywith other departments and employees both verbally and in writing.
    • May need to lift and carry up to 15 pounds and/or position the body to reach items on the floor/below knee level or overhead.
    • Position requires ability to navigate typicalproject construction site:
    • Ability to safely transit throughsitewith uneven and changeable workingsurfaces(soil gravel sanddebrisand concrete) and changing elevations during excavations siteworkand construction.
    • Ability to safely transit to/from slab on grade slab on deck and upper elevations via temporary ladders and stairwells prior to installation of final stairwells and or elevator/lift systems.
$23 - $23 an hour
