Were seeking a strategic and experienced Marketing Manager to own the onsite marketing roadmap and drive integrated marketing strategy and execution for Amazon Japans Seller Service Softlines (3P SL) business representing billions of annual Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) and serving hundreds of thousands of sellers. This role will serve as the strategic Point of Contact (POC) of 3P SL Marketing team and collaborate across other teams to lead the development of a comprehensive year-round marketing calendar with campaigns execution that drives traffic growth to 3P SL ASINs through integrated campaign planning experimental program launches and systematic optimization of Amazons owned marketing channels.
Key job responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Coordination
Own the 3P SL Marketing roadmap defining quarterly priorities that maximize traffic to 3P SL ASINs
Develop integrated year-round marketing calendar coordinating peak events evergreen programs and experiments
Partner with Retail Softline Marketing team to ensure integrated planning and execution for synergized customer experience and total Softline business optimization
Balance competing priorities across internal and external partners in a rapidly changing environment
Campaign Development Testing and Scaling
Design test and launch new onsite marketing campaigns to test new marketing concepts audience targeting channels and messaging strategies that drive measurable seller traffic growth
Establish test-and-learn frameworks to continuously experiment with new marketing approaches and iterate based on performance data
Scale winning campaigns and marketing concepts across seller segments creating repeatable playbooks and documented best practices
Generate compelling case studies and success stories regularly that demonstrate quantified business impact with clear metrics and learnings
Communicate strategy findings and recommendations effectively both verbally and in writing to stakeholders and senior management up to senior leadership
Onsite Traffic Optimization
Own all onsite traffic drivers (email push notifications gateway placements store merchandising etc.)
Conduct weekly funnel analysis to identify gaps provide insights on gaps to topline goals and prioritize optimization opportunities
Drive customer lifecycle management activities including acquisition and retention to accelerate growth
Work efficiency and channel optimization
Create and lead new initiatives for driving existing onsite channels to further maximize growth for 3P SL sellers
Leverage Gen AI tools (e.g. content generation image creation campaign optimization) to increase marketing production efficiency by 20% while maintaining quality standards
Analytics & Insights
Use data and customer research to inform strategy and measure campaign effectiveness
Analyze customer cohorts and drive initiatives to improve growth in key segments
Build reporting mechanisms that communicate actionable insights
A day in the life
Youll analyze campaign performance data in the morning identifying opportunities to optimize onsite traffic drivers like email push notifications and gateway placements. Youll collaborate with other teams across Retail and 3P to coordinate integrated campaigns and quarterly priorities. Your afternoons focus on designing experiments scaling successful concepts and leveraging Gen AI tools for efficient content creation. Youll present findings to senior leadership and translate insights into actionable strategies that drive measurable traffic growth for hundreds of thousands of third-party Softlines sellers on Amazon Japan.

The Japan Seller Service Softline Marketing team is responsible for driving growth and success for 3P SL sellers on Amazon Japan. We work at the intersection of seller success and customer experience developing innovative marketing strategies that benefit both customers and sellers. Our team values experimentation data-driven decision making and cross-functional collaboration.
- Bachelors degree
- 6 years of marketing experience
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience in Excel or SQL
- Experience in Business English skills both verbal and written
- Speak write and read fluently in Japanese at a business level or above (N1)
- Experience in producing marketing content for owned & operated channels in product marketing category marketing or seller marketing roles
- Deep knowledge of onsite marketing channels (email merchandising personalization)
- Experience using customer research hard data and metrics to assess the efficacy of marketing programs
- Experience utilizing Amazon systems and tools involving email campaign creation and analytics (MAFI Bullseye Sophia etc.) for targeting segmentation and reporting
- Experience with A/B (WebLab) testing methodologies and experimentation frameworks
- Track record of scaling successful marketing concepts across categories or segments
- Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous fast-paced environments
