Position Overview
The Assistant Principal supports the Principal in the leadership coordination supervision and daily operations of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School. As a key member of the Leadership Team the Assistant Principal helps foster a faith-filled safe and academically strong environment that supports the spiritual social and academic growth of all students.
This position reports directly to the Principal.
Key Responsibilities
Shares in Leadership and supervision over daily school operations
Collaborates with the Principal in overseeing curriculum design instructional strategies and the teacher evaluation process.
Collaborates with the Principal Dean of Students Counselor and Administrative Assistant to address school-wide needs and continuous improvement initiatives
Serve on the School Improvement Action Team and Crisis Management Team
Share responsibility with the Principal for communication to parents and supporting initiatives of the Parent Leadership Team
Lead or support major school events including Curriculum Night Meet the Teacher Advent Concert Open House Steamer Day 8th grade graduation and other community events throughout the school year
Oversee the Instructional Support Team
Attend grade level Professional Learning Communities to stay informed of instructional and student concerns.
Monitor report cards and conduct grades
Oversee student supervision areas including arrival and dismissal the lunchroom and hallways
Provide support to teachers in academics and instructional needs.
Conduct classroom observations and participates in teacher evaluations
Collaborates with Counselor on annual class list creation.
Maintain textbook lists and oversee textbook storage inventory and ordering
Coordinate Safety Patrol recruitment and oversees during arrival/dismissal
Coordinate high school placement information for 8th-grade students and families
Serve as Latchkey Director and oversees enrollment of latchkey students.
Skills & Qualifications
Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of Our Lady of Good Counsel
School Administration Certification
Strong leadership organizational and communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty staff parents and students
Experience in instructional leadership preferred
Flexibility professionalism and a student-centered approach
Details:
This position works during the summer as needed to complete administrative tasks for the school.
