Position Overview

The Student Marketing Assistant position is a part-time position serving the Marketing Communications and Engagement (MarComm) Office with basic administrative duties to promote USAC. The assistant will perform data entry such as updating third-party online content with study abroad program details gathering and organizing image/video library for internal staff use and other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have good computer skills time management and experience with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) be friendly helpful and willing to learn and tackle new challenges in a busy work environment.

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time non-exempt andnon-benefittedposition. It will be paid $14 and up to 19 hours a week.

General Responsibilities

  • Create social media content including videos graphics and contests
  • Maintain content tag identify organize and compile image and videofiles
  • Write design or edit marketing and communications content as necessary
  • Participate in campus outreach events and study abroad fairs (as needed)
  • Oversee with support marketing and content incoming email accounts
  • Perform dataentry and provide general administrativeduties
  • Be able to manage detailed projects with responsibility andautonomy
  • Be available to work both during the academic year but also during university breaks (i.e. time off around holidays and breaks is no problem but we are open year-round)

Requirements

  • Journalism or marketing degree program or former job experience/internship
  • Basic receptionist/administrative experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Available to work 19 hours a week; Monday-Friday 8am 5pm
  • Must be a current student


Preferred

  • Strong social media engagement and interest (TikTok Instagram and LinkedIn)
  • International or study abroad experiencepreferred

Qualifications & Skills

  • Advanced level of written and oral communication skills
  • Detail orientated and well organized
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Patience in helping students clarify needs and explore their interests providing capacities and resources in order to help them make informed choices and making suggestions about available study abroad opportunities
  • Self-starter

Work Environment & Physical Demands

The duties of this job are mainly performed in a regular office environment with occasional small trips outdoors. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit stand and walk throughout the building. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
