Compensation & Incentives
Hourly Pay Range: $35.65 $47.64 (based on experience; candidates with 18 years may be considered for top of range)
Shift Differential: $4/hr for nights and weekends

A large high-acuity acute care hospital in Kansas City is seeking an experienced RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) to support its Orthopedic / Neuro Trauma unit. This Level I Trauma and Stroke Center delivers advanced patient-centered care across a wide range of medical and surgical specialties and serves as a regional referral hub.
Position Summary
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) provides shift-based leadership and coordination of patient care for the Orthopedic / Neuro Trauma unit. This role supports safe staffing clinical quality and efficient unit operations while serving as a clinical and professional resource for nursing staff. The CNC works closely with nursing leadership to promote teamwork staff engagement and optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Direct monitor and evaluate nursing care provided on the unit
Support patient admissions discharges and overall patient throughput
Collaborate with the nursing leadership team to assess and improve quality of care
Lead staff engagement initiatives including hourly rounding and staff rounding
Provide input and recommendations related to hiring training and professional development
Assist with staffing schedules labor management and resource utilization
Maintain appropriate inventory levels and support equipment and supply management
Qualifications
Experience
Strong current acute care Registered Nurse experience in a Medical-Surgical setting required
Charge Nurse experience preferred
Alternatively 2 years of recent Med-Surg RN experience considered
Education
Licensure & Certifications
Active RN license in the state of practice or valid compact license
BLS and ACLS required within 30 days of hire
Participation in professional nursing organizations encouraged
