Compensation & Incentives

  • Hourly Pay Range: $35.65 $47.64 (based on experience; candidates with 18 years may be considered for top of range)

  • Shift Differential: $4/hr for nights and weekends

  • Sign-On Bonus: Case by case

  • Relocation Assistance: Case by case

Facility Overview

A large high-acuity acute care hospital in Kansas City is seeking an experienced RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) to support its Orthopedic / Neuro Trauma unit. This Level I Trauma and Stroke Center delivers advanced patient-centered care across a wide range of medical and surgical specialties and serves as a regional referral hub.

Position Summary

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) provides shift-based leadership and coordination of patient care for the Orthopedic / Neuro Trauma unit. This role supports safe staffing clinical quality and efficient unit operations while serving as a clinical and professional resource for nursing staff. The CNC works closely with nursing leadership to promote teamwork staff engagement and optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct monitor and evaluate nursing care provided on the unit

  • Support patient admissions discharges and overall patient throughput

  • Collaborate with the nursing leadership team to assess and improve quality of care

  • Lead staff engagement initiatives including hourly rounding and staff rounding

  • Provide input and recommendations related to hiring training and professional development

  • Assist with staffing schedules labor management and resource utilization

  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and support equipment and supply management

Qualifications

Experience

  • Strong current acute care Registered Nurse experience in a Medical-Surgical setting required

  • Charge Nurse experience preferred

  • Alternatively 2 years of recent Med-Surg RN experience considered

Education

  • RN Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active RN license in the state of practice or valid compact license

  • BLS and ACLS required within 30 days of hire

  • Participation in professional nursing organizations encouraged
