Job Summary
A healthcare facility in New York is seeking an X-Ray Technologist to operate radiologic imaging equipment and produce high-quality diagnostic images. The role involves patient preparation adherence to radiation safety standards equipment maintenance and compliance with regulatory guidelines to ensure patient and staff safety.
Duties & Responsibilities
Establish rapport with patients to identify service needs explain procedures and help reduce anxiety
Prepare patients for radiologic procedures including proper positioning use of immobilization devices and setting exposure factors
Operate radiologic imaging equipment to obtain accurate high-quality diagnostic images
Minimize radiation exposure through appropriate shielding beam restriction and radiation protection techniques
Follow infection control policies and departmental safety procedures
Ensure quality and accuracy of radiographs; adjust techniques as needed
Document patient care and imaging procedures in departmental and patient records including exam completion and verification
Perform preventive maintenance on radiology equipment; troubleshoot issues and coordinate repairs as needed
Maintain radiology supplies and manage inventory levels
Ensure a clean safe and compliant work environment
Maintain professional competency by completing required CME and regulatory education
Participate in team activities and support departmental goals
Complete annual age-specific competency requirements
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
No prior experience required
Licensed Radiologic Technologist by the New York State Department of Health
Competency in diagnostic radiologic procedures
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Dependable detail-oriented and safety-focused
Education & Certification
Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology
New York State License (L.R.T.)
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification
