About the Internship Opportunity with Venture Growth - Momentum Program

The Momentum Team part of Venture Growth at MaRS supports a high-impact portfolio of ventures as they scale from $5M ARR to $100M. We are seeking a summer intern to play a pivotal role in portfolio management and the execution of our engagement strategy.


This is an opportunity to go behind the scenes of high-growth venture support. By managing critical data and operational logistics you will directly enable our team to spend more time with executive teams ultimately driving the value these ventures receive from the MaRS ecosystem. Your work will culminate in the creation of a new performance dashboard that will help us measure and monitor progress across the entire Momentum portfolio.


Major tasks the Intern will undertake:

Your primary focus will be supporting the Momentum Team with portfolio operations and data integrity. Specifically you will:

  • Data Management & Insights: Update and organize venture tracking spreadsheets and leverage tools like Pitchbook to maintain accurate venture profiles and 2025 data.
  • CRM Optimization: Clean up Salesforce profiles for portfolio ventures ensuring executive contacts and engagement histories are accurate and actionable.
  • Strategic Deliverable: Help create and maintain a Salesforce dashboard to better monitor and measure outcomes for the Momentum portfolio.
  • Engagement Support: Support event planning and coordination for venture-facing activities and assist with the disengagement process for ventures exiting the portfolio.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate joint efforts with other internal MaRS teams to ensure a seamless experience for our ventures.


What You Bring

Required Skills & Experience

  • Currently enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of an undergraduate program or pursuing a Masters/PhD.
  • Strong ability to multitask and meet demands in a fast-paced environment without compromising attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex concepts into clear presentations.
  • An understanding of or prior experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
  • Proficiency with G Suite Slack and digital coordination tools.


Great to have (but not required)

  • A major or specialization in business or STEM
  • Proven project or program management experience.
  • Familiarity with Pitchbook and tools like Asana or Mailchimp.
  • Knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing high-growth companies.
  • Experience in building or managing community programming (peer-to-peers advisory services etc.).


The Fine Print

The internship runs May 4 - August 21 2026.


The expected annual base salary range (prorated for the term) for this role is $42000 - $51000 which is determined based on year of study candidates skills knowledge experience and internal equity. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada reside in Ontario for the duration of the internship and be willing to work out of our Toronto office (101 College Street) a minimum of 3 days per week.
