We are seeking a safety-focused 10000 lb Forklift Operator for our manufacturing warehouse and large laydown areas. This role involves precision loading inventory staging and navigating diverse terrain while maintaining a mandatory OSHA-10 Construction certification. A core requirement is the daily safety partnership with a Site Flagger including a joint pre-shift equipment inspection to ensure maximum operational integrity and hazard prevention.

$21$25 per hour depending on experience (bilingual required)

Minimum Requirements
Daily Operations & Interaction
Pre-Shift Inspection: The Operator and Flagger will conduct a joint walk-around of the 10K forklift to inspect hydraulics tires (checking for debris/punctures from the yard) fluid levels and safety alarms.
Laydown Management: Organize and stage materials in the outdoor yard according to size weight and frequency of use. Ensure all labels-out protocols are followed for easy inventory scanning.
Terrain Navigation: Demonstrate mastery in shifting loads over uneven surfaces gravel or transitions between the yard and the warehouse floor.
Material Coordination & Safety
Signal Adherence: Maintain constant visual or radio contact with the the large laydown area the Operator must account for increased stopping distances and wider turn radius.
Load Securement: Verify that all oversized loads are balanced and if necessary secured for long-haul transport across the facility to prevent shifting.
Pedestrian Awareness: Actively monitor for blind-side hazards especially in the laydown area where noise from other machinery may drown out the forklifts back-up alarm.
Inventory & Documentation
Logistics Tracking: Accurate record-keeping of material movement from the laydown yard into the manufacturing queue.
Space Optimization: Proactively identify opportunities to consolidate materials in the yard to maximize square footage.

3. Technical Skills & Environmental Competencies
Precision Stacking: Ability to stack heavy crates or bundles at heights in outdoor environments where wind or surface slope may be a factor.
Equipment Preservation: Understanding of the cooling and fueling requirements for heavy-duty 10K units running 48 hours per week.
Situational Judgement: Knowing when a load is unsafe to lift due to weight distribution or environmental hazards (e.g. high winds or soft ground).

4. Safety & PPE Requirements
Full Compliance: Adherence to all site-specific safety plans.
Standard Gear: Hard hat steel-toed boots high-visibility Class II vest and safety glasses are required at all times.
Minimum Requirements

Experience: At least 1 year of experience operating a 10000 lb forklift. Experience must include navigating both indoor warehouse aisles and outdoor laydown yards.
Certification: Must possess a valid OSHA-10 Construction card.
Physical Ability: Must be comfortable mounting/dismounting large equipment frequently and working in various weather conditions (heat rain wind).
