Job Summary:
The Slitter Machine Operator is responsible for setting up operating and monitoring slitting equipment to convert large rolls of material into finished products that meet customer specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
Shifts available:
- 2nd Shift 3:30pm-11pm
- 3rd Shift 11pm-7:30am
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate slitter machines according to job orders work instructions and specifications
- Load and unload master rolls using hoists cranes or forklifts
- Adjust knives spacers tensions and guides to ensure accurate cuts and consistent quality
- Monitor machine performance during operation and make adjustments as needed
- Inspect finished product for quality dimensions and defects
- Accurately complete production records scrap reports and job documentation
- Perform routine maintenance cleaning and blade changes
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical or operational issues and escalate as needed
- Follow all safety procedures OSHA regulations and company policies
- Work collaboratively with supervisors maintenance and quality teams to meet production goals
