Position Summary
Department: Academic Success Center
Reports To: Director of Student Success Services and Trio Project
Status: Non-Exempt
Collaborate with the Director of Student Success Services to develop plan and implement support services to increase academic performance retention and degree completion of project participants. The Trio SSS Project Coordinator will ensure that the program meets established goals objectives and federal guidelines and is responsible for program operation and implementation management of day-to-day operations planning and supervision of student staff.
Essential Functions
- Collaborate with Director of Student Success Services Intercultural Learning Center staff Career Services Student Financial Services and Academic Advising to holistically support SSS program students and execute SSS strategic plan.
- Conduct applicant intake interviews; prepare needs assessment; create an Academic Success Plan (ASP)
- Provide important financial aid and scholarship information to program participants
- Provide direct academic support services to Project participants and supervises participants at Trio-sponsored activities and trips.
- Assist with implementation of personal development and careers-exposure/awareness seminars.
- Plan project-related educational cultural enrichment programs and services
- Plan and implement special focus project workshops or seminars (eg study skills financial aid counseling)
- Maintain compliance with federal regulations governing projects
- Provide reports to Project Director to ensure that all participants meet federal guidelines for program participation.
- Utilize management information systems (i.e. Colleague Trio dashboard Penji)
- Network and collaborate with campus stakeholders in support of the programs goals and objectives
- Hire train and supervise student staff in compliance with Project and CRLA standards
- Assist the ASC Office Assistant with the hiring training and supervision of the student office assistants as needed
- Serve on university committees to support student success and retention
- Maintain/manage Trio SSS Project social media presence including internal LMS
- Maintain records of all student interactions
- Participate in promotional and recruiting events like FPU student orientations admissions events etc.
- Pursue professional development relating to tutoring and/or student success
- Participate in FPU Commencements

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors degree
- Minimum of two to three years of appropriate and relevant professional experience working in a Trio federal program or similar related program for disadvantaged and at-risk college students
- Experience coordinating/supervising programming visits & cultural events
- Experience advising and assisting participants with the graduate school admissions and financial ad processes
- Familiarity with spreadsheets and databases management
- Professional or personal experiences in overcoming barriers similar to those confronting program participants
Preferred:
- Masters degree in higher education social work education or related fields form an accredited college or university
- Experience in tutoring and tutor center management
- Experience with CRM software
Environmental Conditions:
- Indoors in a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise dust fumes vibrations and temperature changes at least eighty percent (80%) of the time.
- Frequent computer use at a workstation up to eight hours per day.
- Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
- Drive personal or University vehicles to appointments.
- Public contact position requiring professional apparel personal hygiene and grooming.
Physical Demands:
- This position typically functions indoors in an office environment with light to moderate noise associated with business office equipment. The position may involve travel for meetings and events.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to: remain in a stationary position 80 % of the time be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets/office machinery etc. operate a computer and keyboard and other office productivity machinery such as calculators/copy machines/printers. The employee is occasionally required to position self to reach items on the floor and in high cabinetry.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Employee must be able to communicate with others to exchange information including both over the telephone and in-person communication with callers and community members and be able to read a computer screen and paper documents.

$39520 to $46800 is the annual starting salary for this role and reflects what Fresno Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications experience and internal addition to compensation FPU offers a competitive benefits package.
