Legal Assistant Intellectual Property Litigation

The firm is currently seeking a Legal Assistant to join its Intellectual Property Litigation group in the Vancouver office. This role supports several legal professionals and plays a key role in managing litigation processes deadlines and client service within a fastpaced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage detailed Bring Forward (BF) systems to ensure litigation deadlines are met
- Prepare serve and file court documents in accordance with applicable court rules
- Draft and prepare preliminary court filings
- Arrange examinations for discovery and coordinate court bookings
- Coordinate document workflows including editing compiling printing indexing and binding large volumes of litigation materials (e.g. affidavits application records books of authorities)
- Provide proactive administrative support to legal professionals by managing calendars diarizing key dates maintaining efiling systems and flagging actionable items
- Act as a first point of contact for clients and internal/external stakeholders resolving issues professionally and efficiently
- Maintain electronic workspaces and files within iManage
- Complete file openings including New Business Intake (NBI) and Know Your Client (KYC) requirements
- Assist with the client billing process in collaboration with the Billing Coordinator
- Support client and business development initiatives including maintaining legal professional bios
- Coordinate logistics for internal meetings external client events and professional associations
- Develop strong working relationships with clients and colleagues while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism
- Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- Minimum three years of litigation legal assistant experience required
- Intellectual Property litigation experience strongly preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with Federal Court and BC Supreme Court rules and procedures
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Proficiency with iManage and Microsoft Office
- Strong timemanagement and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sound judgment and analytical thinking
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highvolume environment
- Positive professional attitude with resilience and initiative
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this role is $60000$80000 annually depending on experience skills and qualifications.
Working Arrangement
This position follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to work primarily in the Vancouver office with flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week subject to business needs.
