Position Overview
A healthcare facility in Manhattan NY is seeking an experienced Telemetry Technician to provide continuous cardiac monitoring and advanced ECG interpretation in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role is critical in identifying cardiac rhythm abnormalities and responding promptly to potentially life-threatening changes.
Responsibilities
Provide continuous ECG monitoring and accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias
Analyze ECG strips and promptly identify abnormal or life-threatening rhythm changes
Initiate and assist during emergency codes including rhythm documentation during events
Respond appropriately to monitor alarms and troubleshoot monitoring issues
Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) with correct electrode placement in various care settings
Communicate clearly and effectively with charge nurses physicians and interdisciplinary team members
Enter verify and manage orders within the electronic medical record system
Retrieve laboratory results and report critical values to nursing leadership
Ensure documentation complies with organizational policies and regulatory standards
Safely manage operate and maintain telemetry and monitoring equipment
Required Certifications & Credentials
Telemetry Technician / Monitor Technician Certification
EKG Certification (Required)
American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Telemetry Technician or Monitor Technician
Strong proficiency in ECG rhythm interpretation and arrhythmia recognition
Ability to respond calmly and efficiently in emergency situations
Excellent communication documentation and teamwork skills
