What youll be doing

The Enterprise Data & Records Management Office is responsible for developing and implementing data and records governance across the organization. As a Governance Solutions Analyst Co-op you will use your knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and digital tools such as ChatGPT and the Microsoft 365 suite (including Power BI Power Automate SharePoint Teams and Outlook) as well as process improvement methodologies to help solve complex business challenges. You will contribute innovative solutions to support the implementation of principles policies standards and procedures related to data governance at CIBC. Your work will help ensure consistent data practices throughout the Bank and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Additionally you will assist with data governance activities and collaborate with both business and technology partners.

How youll succeed

  • Data governance: Support data governance in alignment with enterprise guidelines and help develop internal procedures to streamline data governance and data management operations within the team. Assist in implementing the program by evaluating opportunities for enhancements and automation using available technologies tools and techniques.
  • Communication - Use your strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly express ideas and opinions including those that require evaluation interpretation and assessment.
  • Relationship management- Work confidently with stakeholders at all levels and build strong working relationships across the organization focusing on achieving positive outcomes.
  • Process enhancement - Help facilitate and develop activities needed to establish enhance or automate processes and identify opportunities to apply new technologies to existing procedures.
  • Continuous learning - Proactively seek out new knowledge and embrace opportunities for ongoing growth and development.
  • Data and accuracy - Review processes to ensure that all activities are carried out accurately and precisely. Extract explore and organize data from various sources and formats to prepare it for analysis and support proposals for continuous improvement.
