We are seeking a talented individual to join our Cyber Data Engineering team at Marsh as Technical Lead Cyber Data Engineering. This role will be based in Dublin IE. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
We are looking for an experienced hands-on Data Practitioner with experience to spearhead our Cyber data environment. The ideal candidate has a passion for getting things done has worked across complex data projects with significant ramp-up guided and mentored data engineers and worked directly with senior stakeholders to scope projects and ensure delivery aligned with expectations. You will mentor and guide a team of engineers work closely with our Cyber practice leadership and the broader data organization.
We will count on you to:
Bring your years of experience as a data professional to rapidly orient yourself and develop a plan to deliver impactful data on common Marsh infrastructure (primarily Databricks)
Lead the design development and deployment of scalable data solutions supporting layered data frameworks
Mentor a team of data engineers fostering a culture of technical excellence collaboration and continuous improvement
Collaborate closely with business teams to rapidly develop data solutions that fit evolving requirements
Partner with central platform teams to implement features that enhance data operations efficiency and reliability
Drive adoption of DevOps/DataOps best practices including Git version control pipeline-driven deployments and CI/CD workflows
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve data engineering practices
What you need to have:
10 years of data leadership experience
Strong proficiency in SQL and Python with advanced scripting and automation skills
Extensive experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks Snowflake Synapse and cloud providers like AWS Azure or GCP
Proven experience with Git CI/CD pipelines and DevOps/DataOps methodologies
Excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal
Ability to identify and proactively solve complex data-related problems
