Position: Full-time
Schedule: MondayThursday 8am5pm; Friday 8am1pm
Job Duties:
- Greet welcome and direct every visitor in person by phone or via email with warmth patience and professionalism ensuring all feel seen and valued.
- Answer screen and direct incoming telephone calls; take clear and accurate messages when needed.
- Respond knowledgeably and kindly to all routine questions about parish policies events Mass and confession schedules and parish life.
- Work independently and confidently to manage the daily flow of visitors calls and communications adapting to a wide variety of personalities and situations.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail: sort daily mail distribute to staff and prepare bulk mailings as needed.
- Maintain accurate parishioner data using parish record-keeping systems.
- Provide administrative support for parish staff and committees including scheduling program registrations correspondence and document management.
- Maintain the Mass intention book; record and print Mass intentions on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Assist in the coordination of Infant Baptism preparation classes.
- Keep the reception area and common spaces tidy welcoming and stocked with current parish information and resources.
- Assist with basic financial and donation record-keeping as directed.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion in all matters.
- Uphold a professional calm and welcoming presence even during busy or challenging times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or pastor.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a Catholic parish or three (3) years in a nonprofit or business office environment.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word and the Google Suite (Docs Sheets Gmail Calendar Forms Drive); comfortable learning new technology as needed.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities independently.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; able to connect with people from all walks of life.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and reliability.
- Professional appearance demeanor and punctuality.
- Understanding of and commitment to the mission of the Catholic Church.
- Must be a practicing Catholic.
