Job Summary

The post is offered on a part-time basis for 22 hours per week and you will be working the following days and hours;

Monday: 8.00am to 1pm

Wednesday: 1.00pm - 7.00pm

Thursday: 8.00am to 1pm

Friday: 1.00pm - 7.00pm

You will also be asked to cover occasional Saturday mornings holidays and sickness as required.

Working in a busy environment the duties of the role will include;

Handle all telephone and general enquiries in a professional manner referring callers to appropriate healthcare professional.
Make appointments for patients in accordance with practice protocols.
Ensure that messages and requests for visits are recorded.
Process all post and electronic communications on the day they arrive.
Manage the uploading and downloading of temporary resident forms.
Manage the waiting list for 24 hour blood pressure monitoring and 24 hour ECGs.
General filing photocopying as required.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience offers excellent communication skills and has the following attributes:

Ability to work in a polite confidential and discreet manner respecting patients and colleagues at all times.
Experience of working with the general public being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Strong IT and administration skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable.
