Job Description

RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal Quebec the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
The BRIGHT Coaching research project is an online intervention that provides coach facilitated sessions for parent(s) of children who have a suspected developmental delay and are on a waitlist for developmental services. Coaching is meant to support parents while they wait often for months or years for services and to further promote their childs development strengthen personal and family resilience and help the parents better navigate the health care system. Following a randomized controlled trial (RCT) that was conducted in four Canadian provinces BRIGHT Coaching is now moving into Phase 2 of its Phase 2 the research team will be working with various organizations within each of the four provinces that were involved with the RCT. The goal is to understand implementation barriers and facilitators in an effort to successfully move this program into practice.

General Duties
We are looking for a highly qualified person to work with our team during Phase 2 of the project. This person will work with the site leads at each of the four provinces with our parent research partners and the teams centralized research coordinator. Responsibilities will include:
1. Organizing and conducting interviews and focus groups
2. Qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis
3. Manuscript preparation
4. Development of an implementation plan specific to each province
5. Other duties as required.

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE (optional):
- Have completed a PhD or equivalent in a health-related field
- Be a Canadian citizen
- Have experience in child health research OR implementation science research (both is an asset)
- Have experience with manuscript writing presentations and focus group facilitation
- Have strong communication skills in English and French
-Have experience working independently and proactively
-Have experience with leadership or a willingness to take on a leadership role (asset)

Required Skills

Excellent English spoken and written
Excellent French spoken and written
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision
Experience in the field of child development and/or childhood disability
Qualitative research experience
Quantitative research experience mixed methods research experience
Experience working with diverse groups of people
Experience/training related to cultural safety research/clinical practice
Interest/experience working with Indigenous Knowledge Keepers or communities.

Additional information

Status: Temporary part-time: 14-17.5 hours per week
Pay Scale: $30.60 - $56.82/hour. Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Variable Schedule
Work Site: Remote
