Position Summary -
Santa Fe South Charter School District is the largest brick and mortar charter district in the state of Oklahoma. The district includes two high schools Santa Fe South (5A) and Pathways Middle College (3A). This position is responsible for development leadership and supervision of an OSSAA high school program and providing guidance to the middle school program(s) to support the development of a consistent line of progression for SFS students.
This is a part-time position that may be renewed annually. Teaching and support positions are available within the district but employment in this position does not guarantee a full-time role within the district.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities -
Follow rules and regulations outlined in the SFS Employee Handbook
Clear understanding of OSSAA and NFHS rules and agreement to abide by them
Completion of all mandatory training required by OSSAA NFHS and SFS Schools
Supervision of student-athletes and assistant coaches
Planning of practices scheduling and travel
Regular weekly communication with parents and players
Notify Site AD and District AD if any issues arise
Be early for all practices games and events
Maintain all sports equipment and facilities report issues as they arise
Dress professionally and appropriately
Direct support supervise and evaluate assistant coaches
Be a positive role model for student-athletes and assistant coaches
Engage with alumni and community members to grow attendance
Nominate and recognize student-athletes for academic and athletic awards whenever possible
Provide recommendations for sport needs/purchases to Site AD/District AD
Inventory and track all equipment distribution use storage and recovery
Notify Site AD/District AD of student-athletes interested in post-high school sport participation
Follow school and athletic branding guidelines (Site AD/District AD approval required before ordering)
Acquire PO and approval before purchasing
Conduct pre-season parent meeting
Continually review and confirm Rank One status
Maintain rosters in Rank One
Ensure student-athletes maintain academic eligibility
Email teachers 72 hours prior to absence w/ accurate travel roster
Qualifications
Experience playing or coaching sport required
Bachelors degree preferred
3 years experience as a high school head coach preferred
