ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performing rule out DVT exams identifying venous reflux in the presence of varicose veins for the treatment of chronic
venous insufficiency identifying stenosis or plaque in the arteries and performing ABI exams.
Explaining sonographic procedures to patients answering questions preparing patients by applying the gel to the skin and
positioning the patients on the table.
Ensuring clear images for diagnostic purposes and making adjustments to the sonographic equipment when necessary.
Selecting the appropriate settings and adjusting the patients positions accordingly.
Monitoring and caring for patients to ensure their safety and comfort during the procedures.
Presenting the sonograms and preliminary findings to the Physicians.
Completing the appropriate documentation and maintaining patients histories and medical records.
Assisting Physicians and the healthcare teams during invasive procedures.
Maintaining and cleaning the sonographic equipment.
Create and maintain patient electronic medical record (EMR)
Maintain quantity and quality control checks to assure unit meets standards required by laws rules and departmental
policies.
Maintain supplies
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION
An associates degree in sonography from an accredited school
Must be a Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or a Registered
Vascular Technologist (RVT) through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
BLS Certification
EXPERIENCE
1-year minimum experience in Vascular performing DVT and chronic venous insufficiency exams. As well as lower extremity arterial and ABI exams.
