Lab Support Technician II
Job Description Summary
The Lab Support Services Technician II roles support day-to-day lab operations via the following activities:
Restock general-use lab consumables and reagents outside of the VMI program (e.g. PPE ethanol and other lab sundries)
Manage ticket requests as assigned in OfficeSpace software (accept respond to ticket close out)
Glass wash and autoclave lab glass and plastic ware. Check equipment for proper functionality.
Escort external vendors for weekly deliveries (e.g. dry ice lab coat laundry etc.) and technicians for equipment maintenance
Perform other equipment maintenance checks as instructed (e.g. dehumidifiers)
Remove full regulated medical waste (biohaz) bins to Main Accumulation Area and replace with empty bins.
Monitor and change out lab gas cylinders and liquid nitrogen dewars
Receiving
Retrieve packages from loading dock
Lab space organization as needed
Maintain consumables inventory and utilize Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) software as needed via phone app; receiving reordering restocking
Routine equipment decontamination (BSCs incubators water baths) and maintenance (freezer defrosts centrifuge greasing); basic assembly disassembly and troubleshooting as appropriate; update documentation

Shipping (domestic)
Send weekly waste scope to regulated medical waste hauler in preparation for pickup. Manage stock of materials needed with waste hauler (e.g. biohaz bins sharps containers etc.)
Self-manage weekly task list and maintenance signage for equipment undergoing repairs/maintenance

Laboratory Environment Hazards and Training:
Personnel performing services hereunder (Lab Support Services Technicians) shall operate within laboratory facilities designated as Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2). It is understood and acknowledged that such environments contain hazardous chemical and biological materials. As a condition precedent to commencing any lab-related duties all Lab Support Services Technicians must successfully complete Dynos mandatory Lab Safety Training. Dyno shall provide such training during the onboarding process.
Compliance with Safety Protocols and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Lab Support Services Technicians shall at all times while on Dyno premises strictly adhere to all applicable environmental health and safety policies procedures and protocols established by Dyno including but not limited to standard operating procedures for BSL-2 laboratories. Compliance with such
protocols includes the mandatory use of all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Dyno shall be responsible for providing all necessary and appropriate PPE to the Lab Support Services Technicians.
Preferred: DOT/IATA certified experience with international shipping.
Any Lab Support Services Technician tasked with the packaging labeling or shipping of hazardous materials including biological substances and chemical reagents must possess and maintain a valid active certification in accordance with the U.S. Department of Transportations Hazardous Materials Regulations as set forth in 49 C.F.R. Parts 171-180. Upon request by Dyno proof of such certification shall be provided.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement the geographic area in which the work will be performed market pay rates in that area and the candidates experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
The compensation for the position is: $28.90 - $34.00
