Controls Programmer 1

At Cyclonaire our automation systems power real-world industrial solutions and were looking for a Controls Programmer 1whos ready to grow their skills learn from experienced mentors and help bring complex equipment to life.
This is an entry-level to early-career role ideal for someone with a technical background who wants hands-on experience in automation controls programming testing and commissioning. Youll work closely with senior programmers while developing the skills needed to advance in the automation field.
What Youll Do
As a Controls Programmer 1 youll support the development and testing of automation systems from concept through commissioning:
- Assist with automation and controls programming under the guidance of senior programmers
- Perform equipment setup I/O checkout and pre-shipment testing to ensure systems meet specifications and customer requirements
- Support on-site startup and commissioning activities (with travel as needed)
- Create and maintain electrical controls documentation including panel layouts wiring diagrams network layouts and bills of materials
- Develop user manuals and customer documentation
- Read and interpret electrical schematics technical drawings and control specifications
- Contribute to improving internal standards work instructions and procedures
- Continuously grow your skills through on-the-job learning self-study and exposure to new technologies
What Were Looking For
Were less focused on checking every box and more interested in curiosity technical aptitude and a desire to learn.
Required:
- Associate degree (AAS) in a technical field or equivalent experience
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving organization and time-management skills
- Clear professional written and verbal communication skills
Preferred (but not required):
- Exposure to PLC and controls platforms such as Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 Beckhoff TwinCAT or similar tools
- Familiarity with HMIs PLCs motor control circuits safety circuits and industrial automation equipment
- Experience with IEC 61131-3 programming languages (Ladder Logic Structured Text FBD)
- Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical
Work Environment & Travel
- Based in a clean climate-controlled office within a manufacturing facility
- Occasional exposure to field environments during commissioning and startup
- 1030% travel domestic and international may be required
