As part of the new 35-acre medical campus St. Josephs Westgate Medical Center features new approaches to healthcare via its onside collaboration with Dignity Health partners. The Westgate team has a solid patient/physician focused style to customer service; actively partnering with patients and physicians to plan for the continuum of care. It is with Dignity Healths humankindness movement that gives St. Josephs Westgate Medical Center the opportunity to open a hospital that is based upon partnerships with patients physicians employees and the community.
With future plans to expand St. Josephs Westgate Medical Center a 60000 square foot hospital includes a 12-bed full-service emergency department a 24-bed inpatient unit 2 operating rooms 2 procedural rooms dedicated space for diagnostic services an ambulance bay and helipad. The campus features some of the most innovative uses of materials to promote patient safety patient satisfaction and medical efficiency.
We are extremely proud to be a nationally recognized center for quality quaternary care medical education and research. St. Josephs includes the internationally renowned Barrow Neurological Institute Norton Thoracic Institute Cancer Center at St. Josephs Ivy Brain Tumor Center and St. Josephs Level I Trauma Center (which is verified by the American College of Surgeons). The hospital is also a respected center for high-risk obstetrics neuro-rehabilitation orthopedics and other medical services. St. Josephs is considered a sought-after destination hospital for treating the most complex cases from throughout the world. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will be a pivotal healthcare professional delivering compassionate high-quality care that truly impacts our patients well-being and recovery.
No two days in emergency nursing are ever the same. Youre a multitasker who can react quickly as youll prioritize patients based on their medical necessity while youre providing emergency triage to others. As part of our ER team youll partner with an experienced clinical team to deliver stabilizing care to our patients by performing IV starts foley catheter insertions or aiding providers with chest tube insertions.
To thrive as an ER nurse you should exhibit teamwork professionalism critical thinking skills and a willingness to take on additional projects such as patient experience initiatives. More than anything you should be energetic and motivated to provide quality care to all of our patients maintaining their dignity at every step.
- Use emergency triage protocol to intake discharge or admit patients.
- Deliver stabilizing care to emergency patients of all ages as part of the larger ER team adapting care to changes in patients condition as needed.
- Use knowledge of cultural differences to provide patient care that is sensitive to and consistent with cultural values beliefs and customs. Document the nursing care plan and changes in the patients condition.
- Engage in other activities that will benefit patient outcomes such as patient experience initiatives mentoring etc.
Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school ofnursing upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR upon hire and
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire and
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support upon hire and
- Registered Nurse: AZ upon hire
Preferred
- Bachelors Other Nursing and One year recent acute care experience upon hire
