The Lean Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for coaching leaders and teams to apply the FLIGHT DECK - GE Aerospaces lean operating model to deliver measurable improvements in Safety Quality Delivery and Cost. This role partners with the leadership team to deploy the 8 FLIGHT DECK Fundamentals (Standard Work Daily & Visual Management Value Stream Management Operating Cadences Action Planning Problem Solving 5S and Flow/Pull) while role-modeling our GE Aerospace Behaviors of Respect for People Continuous Improvement and Customer Driven building leadership capability and enabling Hoshin Kanri execution to turn strategy into SQDC results. This role needs to work among all levels of the business and with any employee driving engagement and competency of FLIGHT DECK.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with people leaders to translate site strategy and Hoshin Kanri priorities into clear FLIGHT DECK deployment plans Targets to Improve and value stream roadmaps.
  • Coach leaders at all levels to use the 8 FLIGHT DECK Fundamentals (Standard Work Daily & Visual Management Value Stream Management Operating Cadences Action Planning Problem Solving 5S Flow/Pull) as their primary tools to solve critical business challenges and improve SQDC.
  • Lead and facilitate kaizen events (including Shingijutsu kaizens where applicable) developing Kaizen Leaders and Sub-Leaders and ensuring actions sustainment and visible impact on SQDC metrics.
  • Establish and improve leader standard work (LSW) daily and visual management routines and operating cadences that make performance problems and priorities visible and connect Genba to strategic objectives.
  • Build FLIGHT DECK capability across the organization through on-the-job coaching training and modeling of desired leadership behaviors with a focus on safety inclusion learning and customer-driven execution.
  • Use data visual management and problem solving to identify gaps to standard drive countermeasures and track impact on SQDC and transformation milestones
  • Champion GE Aerospace BehaviorsRespect for People Continuous Improvement Customer Drivenreinforcing the culture needed to invent the future of flight and deliver for today tomorrow and the future.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree (Engineering Operations Supply Chain Business or related field) or equivalent experience
  • Significant experience in operations manufacturing or supply chain with a demonstrated track record of improving SQDC outcomes
  • Hands-on experience with lean / FLIGHT DECK tools (e.g. standard work daily management value stream mapping problem solving 5S kaizen)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change influence and coach leaders and cross-functional teams and navigate resistance in a transformation environment
  • Strong analytical facilitation and communication skills; able to connect Genba observations and data to clear actions aligned to strategy


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a lean / FLIGHT DECK / continuous improvement leader specialist or coach
  • Experience leading kaizen events and building Kaizen Leader capability including in partnership with Shingijutsu where applicable.
  • Familiarity with FLIGHT DECK the Activation Hub and use of standards as the single source of truth for the 8 Fundamentals.
  • Proven track record of rolemodeling GE Aerospace Behaviors and building inclusive high-performance teams
