Position Summary

The Director of Donor Relations will build a network of CUWAA constituents to include alumni donors donor prospects past or current parents and community leaders. The Director of Donor Relations will personally participate in prospect qualification plus cultivation and solicitation of major planned and estate gifts focusing on solicitations of gifts or pledges of $25000.

This is a full-time position that reports to the Vice President for Advancement and is located on the Ann Arbor Michigan campus.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cultivate existing major gift donors and qualify new major gift prospects for both Concordia University Wisconsin and Concordia University Ann Arbor equally with an emphasis on connections within the community and select regions nationally to either campus.
  • Manage a portfolio of donors and donor prospects.
  • Establish and manage a schedule of qualification cultivation and gift solicitation visits especially among key alumni parents university friends and community leaders.
  • Work closely with the various members of the Advancement team in the planning and execution of special events related to major gift fundraising alumni relations and church relations.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the members of the Advancement staff to accomplish the goals of the University at large. Be open to other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the vice president.
  • Conduct all activities within the budget established by the University.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

A bachelors degree is required and at least three years of experience that relates directly to fundraising or sales is preferred. Must be computer literate with an understanding of development or fundraising techniques and best practices.
