Role Overview

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse provides high-quality patient-centered care in a fast-paced high-acuity emergency setting. ED RNs are responsible for rapid assessment prioritization and intervention for patients of all ages presenting with a wide range of medical surgical and trauma-related conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Perform rapid and accurate patient assessments for both physical and behavioral health conditions
Prioritize patient needs and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
Deliver comprehensive emergency nursing care in high-stress and time-sensitive situations
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Provide clear communication to patients families and care teams
Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards
Safely manage emergency equipment and monitoring systems

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 18 months of Emergency Department nursing experience
Recent ED experience within the past 6 months
Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills
Ability to formulate and implement effective nursing care plans
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to function effectively in a high-volume emergency environment

Certifications & Licensure (Required)

Active New Jersey RN License or Multi-State Compact License
BLS (AHA)
ACLS
PALS
Telemetry
NIHSS
Stroke CEU 4 Contact Hours
