Job Summary
Subject to formal establishment a vacancy will arise for a OF6 to serve as Safety Advisor MSHQ at Main Building on Full Time Reserve Service (FTRS) Limited Commitment (LC) Terms and Conditions of Service (TaCoS) with an initial proposed start date of April 2026 for 36 Months.
The Military Strategic Headquarters (MSHQ) Safety Advisor will be responsible for delivering the MSHQ Safety Operating Model and Safety Management System. The MSHQ Safety Advisor directly supports CDS and VCDS and reports to COS MSHQ in the MSHQ Central Pillar. The primary role is to direct advise and coordinate safety management across the Military Commands with oversight and authority over the Safety Centres in each Military Command to ensure that CDS fulfils their delegated accountabilities for safety and legal duty of care for their personnel in the Reformed Defence Operation Model. This role has significant influence and authority in shaping a more coherent efficient and risk aware Safety Management System that spans the four Military Commands. The successful candidate will provide safety leadership within the MSHQ bringing the single Services together under a unified Safety Management System.
Unit Function:
MSHQ Central Pillar. The Central Pillar coordinates the supporting functions and governance over the Military Commands.
