Role Overview:
The Network Security Engineer will design implement and maintain secure networking solutions lead projects and migrations troubleshoot network security issues and support internal teams with network security operations. The role involves end-to-end project management from design to implementation and includes mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify organizational requirements and design network security solutions.
Engineer install and troubleshoot secure networks.
Develop design documentation and manage implementations.
Assist with capacity planning monitoring and review of secure networks.
Lead migrations from legacy platforms to next-generation security technologies.
Support threat remediation and network troubleshooting.
Implement configuration guidelines change management and standard operating procedures.
Lead and coordinate team activities to resolve issues promptly.
Generate weekly project reports and host status meetings.
Required Experience:
5 years with Palo Alto Networks: firewalls IDS/IPS content filtering VPN DLP TLS/SSL inspection.
4 years with Cisco systems: complex switching routing wireless.
3 years with A10 Networks: reverse proxies load balancing.
2 years with Network Access Control: Cisco ISE Free Radius ACLs.
General knowledge: Microsoft MFA cloud networking/security authentication standards (802.1x) routing protocols (EIGRP OSPF BGP) microsegmentation PKI vulnerability management (Nessus NMAP) packet/protocol analysis (Wireshark Opnet) centralized management tools (Panorama SolarWinds) major OS platforms.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in IT or related field.
Active certifications:
PCNSA or equivalent Palo Alto certification
CCNA Enterprise or CCNA Security
Preferred Qualifications:
10 years of U.S.-based networking/security experience
Advanced certifications (PCNSE CCNP Enterprise/Security)
Skills & Competencies:
Ability to work independently and mentor junior staff
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to produce technical documentation project plans and user instructions
