Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise crews and subcontractors during underground construction projects.
- Coordinate daily activities including planning hole paths and managing equipment logistics.
- Operate or oversee operations including mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Conduct pre-shift inspections and safety meetings; ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures.
- Monitor performance adjust parameters as needed and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Maintain accurate records of progress materials used and crew activity.
- Communicate regularly with project managers engineers and other trades to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Ensure proper handling storage and disposal of materials.
- Assist with training and mentoring personnel.
- Enforce company policies OSHA/MSHA regulations and site-specific rules.
Qualifications:
- FL State CDL-A License
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification a plus.
- 5 years of experience in underground construction with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Strong knowledge of underground construction methods.
- Experience with underground utility installation tunneling or mining preferred.
- Proven leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings blueprints and specifications.
- Working knowledge of job safety analysis (JSA) hazard assessments and related safety documentation.
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions including confined spaces and varying weather.
Working Conditions:
- Majority of work is performed on active construction sites.
- May involve long hours night shifts and weekend work depending on project demands.
- Must be able to work in underground environments including confined or low-light areas.
Licenses/Certifications (Preferred or Required):
- OSHA 30 or MSHA Certification
- Valid Drivers License (CDL may be preferred depending on equipment use)
- First Aid/CPR
