Position Summary:
The Staff Pharmacist Manager oversees pharmacy fulfillment operations ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. This role is responsible for leading a team of pharmacists and technicians optimizing workflow efficiency and driving continuous improvement initiatives to deliver safe accurate and timely medication fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
- Manage and mentor pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to achieve performance goals.
- Foster a culture of engagement accountability and professional growth.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily fulfillment operations to ensure accuracy quality and compliance.
- Implement and sustain Fulfillment Operating System pillars:
- People Development
- Leader Standard Work
- Throughput Optimization
- Visual Management/Tier Accountability
- Focused Improvement
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to state and federal pharmacy regulations licensing requirements and Evernorth standards.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and audit readiness (target: 99.9% accuracy).
Process Improvement
- Identify and execute initiatives to improve efficiency reduce errors and enhance customer experience.
- Leverage automation and technology to optimize throughput and reliability.
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations Quality Talent Acquisition) to align on goals and priorities.
- Communicate performance metrics and progress through tier boards and daily huddles.
Qualifications:
- Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree required.
- Licensure: Active pharmacist license in good standing.
- Experience:
- Minimum 35 years in a pharmacy leadership or management role.
- Experience in high-volume fulfillment or specialty pharmacy preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and pharmacy operations.
- Ability to drive process improvement and manage change effectively.
Performance Metrics:
- Inventory accuracy
- Prescription fulfillment turnaround time
- Compliance audit results
- Employee engagement and development outcomes
