Child Welfare Building Community Partnerships
Job Title: BCP Supervisor
Reports To: Program Manager
Status: Full Time
FLSA Status: Exempt
Our Mission: To provide expert comprehensive services in southeastern Michigan that strengthen children adults and families impacted by abuse and neglect autism developmental disabilities and mental health challenges so they are successful in their communities.

Job Summary:
The Building Community Partnerships Supervisor is to locate existing and develop new support services activities and resources that meet the specific needs of the client/families served. Including but not limited to: After school programs; extracurricular activities in conjunction with local schools; Fatherhood involvement activities Grandparent raising grandchildren support childrens workshops recreational activities for youth and children involved in the child welfare system; youth support groups; and mentoring and tutorial support services.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Hire train and monitor Parent Partner activities.
  • Identifies recruits and retains community stakeholders to become collaborative members for the BCP.
  • Recruits and trains community representatives for the purpose of attending Family Team Meetings at the request of DHS.
  • Conducts community forums Child Abuse Prevention Trainings Building Community Partnership (BCP) meetings and focus groups to promote awareness of BCP.
  • Collaborates with DHS to provide training and mentoring services to potential and existing resource parents.
  • Facilitates support groups for both birth parents and foster parents monthly.
  • Manages program specific assistance funds
  • Submits monthly and other reports as required.
  • Participates in required trainings.
  • Attend all scheduled team meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children and families with multiple problems and an overall ability to relate to and engage with families at risk and in crisis.
  • An understanding of current and appropriate parenting skills and life skills.
  • Knowledge of child welfare policies and programs family therapy theories treatment philosophies and strategies of home-based services.
  • Ability to provide culturally competent services that shows sensitivity to the service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.

Education Certificates Licenses Registrations:
  • A bachelors degree in the field of human services is required preferably in social work.
  • Valid Michigan Drivers License appropriate insurance and use of own vehicle.
Working Conditions:
  • Works in an office environment and in the community as needed.
  • Possible stressful environment working with families and court system.
  • Non-traditional hours occur often due to the need for evening and weekend visitation events and trainings etc.
  • Fast paced enthusiastic and team oriented workplace.
Physical requirements:
Sitting and standing for extended periods of time. May require some lifting.
