Position:Special Education Teacher Long Term SubstituteLocation:Stacy Middle SchoolSchedule:February 2026 Last Day of SchoolSalary:TBDTo Start:February 2026Qualifications:Massachusetts Department of Education Teacher License-Certified Grades 5-8 in Special Education; Highly Qualified status in subject area(s)Strong ability to relate and work with the middle level learnerExperience in Response to Intervention PBISCPI Training preferredAbility to differentiate instruction and incorporate a variety of learning activities/ experiences to inspire motivate and challenge our middle level studentsExperience working with LEP/FLEP studentsFamiliarity with the MA Frameworks for Grade 5-8Excellent technology skills/familiarity with IEP programmingSEI training Bilingual PreferredExperience to work interdisciplinary with content colleagues on interdisciplinary initiativesA positive person willing to become involved in the academic and social aspects of school life to support student success school spirit and school climate and cultureA self-reflective active learner capable of interactive dialogue with all members of the school communityStrong familiarity with MA frameworks and special education regulationsResponsibilities:Liaison for students on caseloadFamiliarity with MCAS and MCAS AltFacilitate Team meetingsDevelop IEPs progress reports evaluations scheduling students with a variety of special education needsAdminister/interpret variety of diagnostic instrumentsStrong co-teaching backgroundExperience teaching and motivating middle school students in team settingHighly organized and efficient with paperworkWork collaboratively with teachers in other contents and special areasAssess strengths and needs of students provide appropriate differentiated instruction and communicate assessment results to parents teachers administratorsAnalyze all assessment data related to student performance and use that data to improve instructional practicesCommunicate regularly with parents/guardians/community agencies and peers to ensure student successCreatively plan and implement instruction in a small group and pull out classroom settingSupport and provide strategies for students with social emotional and behavioral challenges
