Job Summary

TheController oversees financial operations and reporting for Newport-managed hotels. This role ensures financial clarity asset protection and strategic alignment by partnering with property teams corporate leadership and ownership groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Leadership: Oversee GL AP/AR payroll and cash management; advise leadership on risks and performance trends.

  • Portfolio Oversight: Lead monthly financial closes for all managed hotels in compliance with USALI and GAAP.

  • Property Support: Partner with General Managers to strengthen financial discipline and support new hotel transitions.

  • Controls & Compliance: Implement internal controls to safeguard assets manage cash flow and coordinate annual audits/tax filings.

  • Team Development: Mentor accounting staff and train property leaders on financial literacy and P&L management.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.

  • Experience: 510 years of progressive accounting experience (Hospitality or multi-unit preferred).

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in USALI GAAP and hospitality systems (M3 ADP PMS/POS).

  • Attributes: Strong analytical rigor strategic thinking and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
