Job Summary

POSITION:Plumber

EXEMPT STATUS:Non-Exempt

NUMBER OF DAYS:260

PAY GRADE:Auxiliary PG-7

DIVISION:

DEPARTMENT:School Plant Services

REPORTS TO:Facility Control & Compliance Supervisor And Plumbing Foreman

SUPERVISES:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE: Prior work related experience and knowledge related to the plumbing craft.

Position Function/Purpose

Role and Purpose:

To provide daily maintenance and repair of plumbing and associated equipment at all district facilities.

Major Responsibilities

1. Works with the plumbing foreman and F.C.C.S. Supervisor regarding progress of daily work orders & projects

2. Works with all other maintenance departments

3. Follows instructions and must be flexible in changing work assignments

4. Demonstrate experience in all phases of plumbing repair and service of boilers pumps water heaters

Water coolers and other standard plumbing fixtures i.e. sewers fixtures piping etc.

5. Able to work independently to complete assigned plumbing related work orders and make needed repairs

Must have the ability to plan and complete construction modifications to district plumbing systems.

6. Perform other duties as assigned by Facility Control & Compliance Supervisor Plumbing Foreman and

Executive Director of School Plant Services.

Qualification Requirements

Minimum Certification/Education:

1. High School Diploma or GED

2. Valid Texas Driver License and acceptable driving record; must adhere to Midland ISDs

vehicle safety and use program

Special Knowledge/Skills:

1. Knowledge of City Plumbing Codes

2. Knowledge of boilers operations in service

Minimum Experience:

1. 3 to 5 years experience with a plumbing company

1. MISD standard pickup van or similar vehicle

2. Heavy equipment backhoe front end loader

3. General hand tools power tools typical to the plumbing trade

4. Torches cutting equipment pipe threads sewer machines

5. Ladders lifts etc.
