Are you a post-secondary student looking to gain hands-on experience in asset management within a municipal setting The City of Edmontons Integrated Infrastructure Services department is looking for an enthusiastic Asset Inventory Management (AIM) Summer Student to join our Life Cycle Management this role you will support critical initiatives that ensure our citys infrastructure data is accurate and up-to-date. You will play a key part in the Building Replacement Value update and asset rationalization projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside industry professionals and external consultants to learn the ins and outs of how a major city manages its physical assets. What will you do
- Review and verify building asset data and replacement values across various City databases including Tririga Meridian and SAP.
- Compare reports from consultants against existing records to identify and resolve discrepancies in building age composition or square footage.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for external consultants tracking project milestones and deliverables to ensure deadlines are met.
- Consolidate data findings into clear concise summary reports and presentations for leadership updates.
- Gather data from various systems to update dashboards and monitor project progress.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings between program managers and various facility partners ensuring accurate minutes are and verify building asset data and replacement values across various City databases including Tririga Meridian and SAP

- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree or diploma program and returning to school in the Fall of 2026
- Fields of study may include Architecture Construction Management Engineering Quantity Surveying or Business Administration
- Intermediate proficiency in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel including experience with VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP pivot tables and data filtering
Assets:
- Previous experience working in an office environment
- Familiarity with asset management principles or municipal infrastructure systems
- Experience using project management tools or digital filing structures
Skills required for success:
- Communication Attention to Detail: Ability to spot errors in complex data sets and provide summaries for remediation. Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Analytical Thinking : Ability to review large numerical data sets with a high degree of accuracy
