Malpas Alport Primary School is seeking a trauma informed dedicated and compassionate Safeguarding Pastoral Lead to join our team. This is a key role within our school working closely with staff pupils families and external agencies to ensure that every child is safe supported and able to thrive.
Malpas is a small rural village with a big heart on the borders of Cheshire Shropshire Cheshire East and Wales and has excellent transport links to the A41 and A49.
As the Family Wellbeing Lead you will:
- Serve as the lead professional for all safeguarding attendance and pastoral matters across the school.
- Design plan and deliver individual and smallgroup pastoral support programmes in partnership with staff and the SENCO.
- Monitor and track pupil wellbeing attendance and behaviour using a range of assessment techniques.
- Build strong positive relationships with pupils parents and carers acting as the key contact for families with pastoral concerns.
- Work proactively with external agencies including Social Care CAMHS School Health Education Psychologists Police and more.
- Lead and contribute to TAFs Child in Need meetings Child Protection processes and other multiagency work.
- Provide nurturing support and mentoring for pupils in EYFS KS1 and KS2.
- Prepare and maintain inclusion and pastoral resources offering staff guidance on their use.
- Lead meetings parent workshops and school events that strengthen the homeschool partnership.
- Contribute to staff training open evenings governor reports and development of safeguarding and PSHCE across school.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience in safeguarding pastoral attendance work or related professional roles.
- Shows warmth empathy and strong communication skills when supporting children and families and implements trauma informed ways of working.
- Can work with sensitivity and professionalism on confidential and complex cases.
- Has the confidence and expertise to liaise with external agencies and lead multiagency meetings.
- Thrives in a collaborative school environment and is committed to the wellbeing of every child.
- Is organised proactive and able to balance a varied and dynamic workload.
- Can work in school 3 days a week- preferably Monday Thursday Friday (some flexibility)
