The school is seeking a dedicated and proactive Pastoral Manager to play a key role in supporting student wellbeing and behaviour.
Working closely with senior leaders safeguarding teams and teaching staff the Pastoral Manager will ensure that students receive the guidance and support necessary to succeed both academically and personally.
This role requires someone who can build positive relationships with students while maintaining clear expectations and supporting behaviour management strategies across the school.
Supporting the wellbeing and behaviour of students across a designated year group
Working closely with Heads of Year and safeguarding leads
Monitoring attendance and implementing intervention strategies where necessary
Supporting behaviour management and promoting positive conduct
Liaising with parents and carers regarding pastoral concerns
Coordinating support for students experiencing emotional or social difficulties
Maintaining accurate records of pastoral interventions and support plans
Supporting safeguarding procedures and referrals where required
Working collaboratively with teachers to support student progress
Organising and supporting wellbeing programmes and pastoral initiatives
Helping to coordinate mentoring or support programmes for vulnerable students
Supporting reintegration plans for students returning from absence or suspension
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting young people and promoting positive wellbeing.
They will possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills and be able to work effectively with students parents and colleagues.
The ability to remain calm empathetic and solution-focused when managing challenging situations will be essential.
Experience working with young people in an educational or pastoral role
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build positive relationships with students and families
Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
Ability to manage challenging situations with professionalism
Commitment to promoting student wellbeing and inclusion
Ability to work collaboratively with staff and external agencies
