Description
The Government Procurement Specialist position requires management and facilitation of the procurement process for government contracts ensuring timely response to RFQ requests sourcing products from various suppliers and submitting bids in compliance with contract requirements. With a focus on the TLSP (Tailored Logistics Support Program) contract and other government initiatives the role involves diligent bid follow-up contract tracking and cross-contract support all while maintaining adherence to strict government regulations and deadlines.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:
Quoting Process Management:
- Respond promptly to RFQ (Request for Quote) requests from government agencies.
- Prepare and provide accurate quotes for products and services in accordance with government procurement regulations.
- Ensure timely submission of quotes to meet contract requirements with a turnaround time of 72 hours.
Supplier Management and Sourcing:
- Conduct thorough research to identify and onboard new supplier contacts.
- Collaborate with various manufacturers to source products meeting contract specifications and quality standards.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to secure favorable agreements for the company.
Bid Submission and Follow-Up:
- Prepare and submit bids for government contracts including the TLSP (Tailored Logistics Support Program) contract.
- Proactively follow up on submitted bids to address any questions or clarifications requested by government agencies.
- Ensure compliance with bid submission deadlines and requirements.
Contract Tracking and Shipping Oversight:
- Monitor the progress of contracts including tracking and shipping of products to ensure timely delivery and fulfillment of contractual obligations.
- Address any shipping issues or delays promptly to maintain customer satisfaction and contract compliance.
Cross-Contract Support:
- Provide support as needed on other government contracts such as GSA contracts or the Air Force boot contract.
- Maintain flexibility and willingness to be cross-trained on different contracts to support organizational needs effectively.
Continuous Improvement and Compliance:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in contract management and procurement procedures.
- Ensure adherence to government regulations and contract requirements in all aspects of contract administration.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain open communication channels with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth contract execution.
- Collaborate with colleagues to leverage knowledge and resources across different contracts and projects.

- Bachelors Degree or 2 years of procurement experience.
- 2 years experience in project management preferably in the Department of Defense / FAR and DFAR environments.
- Experience working with subcontractors and suppliers (preparing and releasing requests for quotes awarding orders tracking performance).
