EduTalent Group is delighted to be working in close partnership with a specialist provision to recruit a dedicated and inspiring SEN Teacher in Brighton.
As an SEN Teacher you will provide outstanding teaching and learning to young people with SEMH needs delivering Maths up to GCSE level and Science at Functional Skills level. You will play a key role in supporting both the academic and emotional development of students in a nurturing inclusive and high-expectation environment.
Working closely with Teaching Assistants and school leadership you will foster a classroom culture that prioritises safety creativity and achievement helping learners progress socially emotionally and academically.
Key Responsibilities:
Create a safe supportive and stimulating classroom environment
Plan resource and deliver engaging lessons in Maths and Science
Teach accredited courses up to GCSE level in Maths and Functional Skills Science
Support pupils with SEMH needs tailoring learning to individual abilities
Supervise and collaborate with Teaching Assistants
Promote high standards of behaviour and learning across the school
Regularly assess student progress and set personalised learning targets
Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding student progress
Collaborate with school leadership to develop schemes of work and intervention strategies
Contribute to school culture through break/lunchtime supervision and extracurricular activities
Ensure compliance with school policies including safeguarding behaviour and health and safety
Requirements
Essential:
Strong experience teaching Maths up to GCSE level and Science at Functional Skills level
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs
Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills
Ability to adapt lessons to a range of abilities
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
Desirable:
Experience in a specialist or alternative provision
Experience delivering extracurricular activities
Passion for innovative educational approaches
