End to End System Architect - Maritime Traffic SaaS in Apeldoorn The Netherlands

The End to End System Architect is responsible for the complete system architecture within customer projects with a focus on system level integration and abstraction across diverse runtime environments including (Linux-) based platforms and connected hardware systems ensuring a stable and scalable end to end solution.


About Tidalis

Tidalis develops software for maritime traffic and port environments where safety availability and reliability are critical. On average employees stay with the company for seventeen years resulting in deep domain expertise and long term customer relationships. Tidalis supports customers in preventing shipping accidents reducing waste of energy and resources supporting rescue operations at sea and combating crime such as drug smuggling and piracy.

Tidalis is building the Maritime Control Service Suite Edition platform (MC-SSE) a largely standardized SaaS solution with multiple variants ranging from on prem to cloud. This platform supports future maritime trends such as decarbonization just in time arrival planning and advanced collision prediction.

The System Architect is involved from project start until system acceptance and has architectural authority including go no go decisions for deployments. There is no people management responsibility and the role is office based with occasional travel.


Scope

Architecture and design: Translating platform variants and customer context into a concrete system design and execution plan.

Requirements and traceability: Ensuring traceability between requirements architecture implementation and acceptance.

Integrations and alignment: Assessing integrations with customer IT suppliers and external platforms and aligning with software engineering.

Security and access: Designing and safeguarding end to end security including roles and authorizations.

External ownership: Protecting architectural integrity across teams customers and suppliers.


Requirements

Proven experience as a system architect enterprise architect or system of systems architect.

Proven experience designing protocol agnostic architectures that integrate multiple sensor and hardware platforms into a coherent and stable system.

Experience with complex end-to-end systems and external dependencies and different.

Strong knowledge of infrastructure networks data flows availability and security.

Experience in mission critical or safety critical environments.

Ability to operate independently with customers and senior stakeholders.
