The Mineral Resources Branch of the Department of Energy Mines and Resources is responsible for the development of a sustainable mining industry in the Yukon. The team develops and delivers policies strategies programs and legislative instruments to support integrated resource management.
As a member of the Mineral Resources senior management team this position is responsible for managing a strongly motivated group and directing planning coordinating implementing and evaluating a variety of strategic and operational mineral resource initiatives. These initiatives include ministerial and senior management information support non-government organization (NGO) funding support regulatory and First Nation consultation policy development geographic information services (GIS) support to the Branch and provision of information to support mining industry investment and development. Strong leadership team building strategic thinking creative problem solving skills and a desire to achieve results are essential to be successful in this key position.
