The Senior Retail Design Documenter is responsible for producing accurate detailed and compliant design documentation for retail projects. This role ensures that creative concepts are translated into build-ready drawings that meet brand standards budgets timelines and construction requirements. The position plays a critical role in bridging design intent and execution.

What Youll Do

Youll be the kind of person who:

Key Responsibilities

Design Documentation & Technical Delivery
Produce detailed construction documentation including plans elevations sections details schedules and specifications.
Translate approved design concepts into accurate buildable drawings.
Maintain consistency with brand guidelines design standards and retail roll-out requirements.
Ensure drawings comply with local codes regulations and accessibility standards.

Coordination & Collaboration

Coordinate documentation with Lead designer & consultant documentation
Respond to technical queries during documentation tender and construction phases as required.
Incorporate feedback and revisions efficiently while maintaining documentation quality.
Read understand and implement services drawings (HVAC Fire Hydraulics and Electrical) when required by the project.

Quality Control & Standards

Review drawings for accuracy constructability and completeness.
Support continuous improvement of documentation processes and standards.

Project & Time Management

Manage multiple projects simultaneously meeting deadlines and project milestones.
Support rollout programs refurbishments and new store developments.
Assist in identifying potential risks related to documentation and construction

Requirements

What You Bring

Technical Skills

Advanced proficiency in Revit
Strong knowledge of retail & hospitality construction methods and materials
High level of technical detailing and documentation accuracy
Understanding of retail fit-out processes and contractor workflows

Professional Skills

Excellent attention to detail
Strong time management and prioritization
Clear written and verbal communication
Ability to work independently and within a team
Problem-solving and proactive mindset

Experience & Qualifications

10 years experience in retail commercial or interior design documentation
Proven experience delivering retail construction documentation
Tertiary qualification in Interior Design Architecture or related field
Experience in multi-site retail rollouts preferred

Required Skills:

Requirements/Skills Needed: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management or a related field. 4 years of experience in estimation project costing or a similar role. Proficiency in AroFlo CRM and Groundplan software. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel Outlook and Word. Strong understanding of Australian construction practices and regulatory standards. Speak English well. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in reviewing plans and documentation. Strong IT skills with the ability to learn and adapt to various tools and systems.
