POSITION SUMMARY Advanced IT and Operations Intern

As an Advanced IT and Operations Intern you fill an integral role managing our physical network assets in our modern Clear Lake headquarters in addition to facilitating the work experience for Kingland employees across multiple facets of IT and Operations including application management network infrastructure and hardware lifecycle management. Attention to detail organization and technical familiarity are key to the management and documentation of physical and digital asset inventory alike. The ideal candidate will gain practical experience working alongside our IT professionals while contributing to meaningful networking projects that support our organizations excellence in technology and efficient operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Advanced IT and Operations Intern

  • Assist the access point enhancement initiative; conduct site surveys equipment preparation and support deployment/implementation efforts.
  • Maintain network infrastructure inventory diagramming and documentation.
  • Learn and implement network design principles and best practices.
  • Work with the Operations Team and Employee Support teams to configure deploy and maintain enterprise applications and hardware.
  • Support and aid in troubleshooting efforts related to end user hardware and application usage.
  • Document application usage procedures and user guides.
  • Assist team members with defining testing strategies and validation criteria for comprehensive coverage of application updates.
  • Organize inventory catalog and oversee the IT warehouse and equipment.
  • Facilitate proper disposal and recycling of end-of-life hardware according to company policy and environmental regulations.
  • Provide general IT support as needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS Advanced IT and Operations Intern

  • Currently enrolled in a two or four-year degree specializing in Information Technology Computer Science Network Administration or a related field.
  • Understanding of computer hardware operating systems and networking concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work with focus and diligence
  • High accountability ownership and drive to create quality work products.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment (up to 50 lbs) as needed.

  • Kingland offers a modern office location in Clear Lake Iowa.
