ROLE OVERVIEW:
- Seeking an experienced User Experience (UX) Designer to join our IT team for the project.
- The ideal candidate will lead user research design intuitive interfaces and ensure strict adherence to accessibility standards.
- You will collaborate closely with product owners and developers to deliver high-fidelity prototypes and wireframes within 2-week agile sprints.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION (MANDATORY):
- Bachelors degree in UX Design HumanComputer Interaction or Graphic Design.
- UX Experience: Five (5) years experience in User Experience (UX) designs of web-based applications.
- Accessibility Compliance: Four (4) years experience designing compliant webpages per accessibility standards WCAG 2.1 Level AA or higher.
- Prototyping: Five (5) years experience creating wireframes prototypes and mockups.
- Information Architecture: Three (3) years experience in information architecture and design.
- Agile Experience: Two (2) years experience in user experience design in an agile development environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES:
USER RESEARCH STRATEGY:
- Lead user research activities including 810 user interviews and 23 usability testing sessions per 2-week sprint.
- Produce comprehensive user research reports summarizing findings from interviews surveys and usability testing.
- Apply user-centric thinking and empathy to identify pain points and validate design assumptions.
DESIGN & PROTOTYPING:
- Develop low-fidelity wireframes high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes for stakeholder review.
- Design 20 key interface screens and workflows for core application modules.
- Audit and update existing screens to ensure brand consistency and inclusive design principles.
- Deliver interactive clickable prototypes with interaction flows and annotations at the end of sprints.
COLLABORATION & HANDOFF:
- Participate in daily stand-ups and sprint reviews with product owners and developers.
- Create design documentation including style guides component libraries and hands off specs that ensure WCAG 2.1 AA compliance.
- Present bi-weekly design reviews to 10 stakeholders using slide decks and demo sessions.
- Provide knowledge transfer and rationale documentation for design decisions.
DESIRED SKILLS & TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
- Experience with mobile app UI/UX for ticketing or payment systems.
- Familiarity with transit fare structures ticket vending machines and validation devices.
- Exposure to data-driven design using analytics related to transit user behavior.
- Experience working in Figma.
- Basic understanding of HTML CSS JavaScript or Blazor to facilitate collaboration with developers.
- Familiarity with Mac laptops is needed for prototype production.
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills for project management.
- Critical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new technology and tools.
